Potty Time!
I know it's New Years Eve and we should be celebrating the coming year but today I had something far more important than the future. I had the NOW to celebrate! Since Landry astounded me with the whole diaper bag/diaper sign thing, I decided that I would go ahead and get her a potty so we could see if she was interested in trying to potty train. I know it is very early but I was completely potty trained by the time I was 17 months old. In most Asian countries, it is a standard practice to start potty training not long after birth! I thought about it before she was born but I digressed.
Right now, I am just introducing it to her and showing how 'exciting' it is. I took her to the potty this morning and took her diaper off. I told her that we were going to sit on the potty and I asked her 'Can you pee pee on the potty?!' Before I could get her diaper completely off, she started to potty and I immediately plopped her on it. I could NOT believe what I was seeing! I clapped and Oh, how I praised her! She knew she had done something really big. I don't know if she really caught on but she will. Hopefully sooner than later. If I am still telling you stories about her potty training a year from now, don't laugh at me. I certainly think it will be worth the effort if she follows in her Mama's footsteps. Isn't it amazing how this image can make a grown woman feel like she won the lottery?! Only a Mama.....

ps...Did I mention that she is only 1 year and 3 weeks old?!
