Penguins Everywhere!
I will admit that while I had a fairly normal childhood, it was far from the Norman Rockwell painting of Christmas. We didn't have a lot of money but there was always presents and plenty of food. I feel very fortunate in that we can give Landry a different picture of the holiday. Maybe a little less stress financially and a little more freedom to create traditions that will be meaningful for her one day. One of the first traditions was that I would like for all of us to have matching pajamas for Christmas morning. I made all of us cute little pants with penguins and shir
ts with our first initials on them. Even Bella had a matching bandanna! I will have to give Mike a GREAT deal of credit for going along with my plan. He didn't even put up a fight. What a guy! As you look through the video, you will probably notice that there is not a real posey posey picture in the bunch. It wasn't for lack of trying but we finally gave in. One or more of the
Maders just didn't cooperate in any of the many tries but we got some cute ones any way. I want to always make cookies for Santa, make a gingerbread house, have an Elf on a Shelf and ALWAYS wake up at our own home on Christmas Day. These are just a few of the traditions that I want to share with her and I am sure we will create many more. As usual, Mike went all out for me and little Miss Landry just had a big time unwrapping all of those presents! In one of the photos, Mike wanted to stack up all her loot and put her on the top of the stack. It was as tall as he is!
We woke up kind of late and Mike cooked us breakfast. We got the camera set u
p, moved the coffee table around and got ready for the mania. We didn't even get going until around 10am! I know it won't be like that for a long, long time so it was nice to be kind of leisurely today. After we got everything opened, I got lunch going and Mike picked his Mom up at 2pm so she could spend the afternoon with us. She never stays very long but ended up being here for about 3 hours today. A record for her! I love all of my gifts and I loved even more that we had the best gift ever in little Landry. We all looked so cute in our pajamas and as I looked through these images, I couldn't help but feel so proud of our little family. It's not Norman Rockwell by a long shot but it is our family and it's pretty darn picturesque in my eyes.

Hey Mader family,
Loved the pajamas. I noticed Bellla even had on her scarf. The photos are beautiful. It's hard to believe the difference in Landry in one year. Hope the rest of the holidays are just as happy for you guys.
Love,
