Reunion!
Sorry I haven’t been able to blog much lately but I have been on vacation in Florida with my family….my whole family. When we get together it is quite a feat. There are 8 brothers and sisters , 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild PLUS spouses! One brother, 2 grandsons and a few spouses weren’t able to make it. The Mader Family and Rhonda’s crew got here Monday morning early. My older sister, Robin got here yesterday and the rest of the family will trickle in from now until Friday. We will have a big party on Saturday and head on back home after church on Sunday. WHEW! I tell you what, after spending two days with my sisters 4 and all of the energy they expel l in a day, I know I won’t have more than two if I even get that far. They are GREAT kids and I love being around them but I realized how much energy I don’t have when I am with them.
We drove though the night to get here so we wouldn’t mess up Landry’s schedule and so she would sleep the whole way. She did fantastic! We left at almost midnight from Fairhope and she slept the whole way. She woke up at her regular time of 6 am and never skipped a beat. She has been charming the pants off her Granddaddy and Grandma ever since.
Speaking of Grands….we met Mike’s dad and stepmother, Barb today for the first time today. For a myriad of reasons, it has been quite a while since he has seen him so it was an interesting reunion. I thought everything went very well and I was glad we were able to visit. I hope that they will continue to be a part of our lives and especially Landry’s. She, of course, put on the charm for them too.
