The Last Lecture
Last Friday Randy Pausch died. He left behind 3 children and a beautiful wife. He also left behind a legacy of hope. His video has been visited by over 10 million people. He speaks of loving oneself, taking drastic risks, failing and achieving. He also talks about the word unfair. I don't think that there is any one I know that hasn't used the word unfair in describing something in their lives...including me. I have used it more times than I care to admit to but after hearing him talk about it, the word almost seems non-existent to me now. I have seen his life's journey in a one hour snap shot and it makes me want to be a better person. His words make me want to do more, be more and think more. It makes me feel like anything and everything is achievable and that you can overcome anything with time and desire. I think I was most impressed by how he chose to be a husband and especially a father. I know this speech isn't a cure all for life's bruises but it sure gives you a shot of 'feel good'. I didn't know Randy Pausch but I truly believe that God sent him to help teach HIS children a beautiful lesson in humanity. Rest in peace, Mr. P and say hello to Sophie for me.
