A Gift
Well, today I had a 'moment'. It took me by surprise actually. I was sitting with Landry in my lap and I was watching a little TV. She was facing forward and standing on my legs. I started singing 'You are my Sunshine' to her and she whipped her head backward and shot me the biggest grin I have ever seen. I am sitting here with the cheesiest smile on my face and half a tear in my eye just thinking about it. I just started crying thinking about the gift she never knew she gave me. That is the best thing a child could ever give a Mama. A pure, unsolicited, genuine, thankyousomuchforsingingmethatsong kind of smile. I just hugged her so tightly and told her over and over how much I love her--of course, crying all the while. I hope you know what you have done to me little one. I am the kind of happy I didn't think I would ever be. You are what dreams are made of.
