Goat Roast
There are certain days that I love love love being a Philipian and today was one of those days. It was the 29th annual Goat Roast and Blue Grass Mass and it was a truly great day. The music was wonderful as always with tunes from the Vernon Brothers Band but what really got me today was a solo by James Martin. He is one of the most incredible singers I have ever heard and I was moved by his performance today. I just clapped and cheered him on during his standing ovation. I cried along side Julie Crump because for a moment we knew we both felt the presence of our children in that room. I could feel her little body almost in my arms as I was listening to him sing about being free. I tear up now thinking about it. The Mader babies were in the best moods and had such a great time out there. I even made Cohen a t shirt to match ours because I couldn't let him be left out!
