I'm back!
It feels like forever since I posted last but I was out of town visiting my family in Mobile and visiting with several high school friends. It was a very fun weekend but I felt kind of sorry for Landry. She was a little grumpy because she is in the beginning stages of CUTTING HER TEETH! Bless her heart, she has just not felt too great over the last few days. I really hate to see her so miserable. I wish I could make it all better for her but I can't and that stinks! Speaking of stinks...since this all started she has been producing quite a bit more poopie diapers. Man... can she produce too!!! I know it will only get worse( and stinkier)but I stand amazed at the whole process.
Friday night, we ate dinner (prepared by my Favorite Uncle Robert) and headed to the Fairhope Pier for a nice evening stroll with the cousins and my Aunt and Uncle. It was so beautiful out there. I remember walking that pier as a kid and the smell of the bay water takes me back to those days with one whiff. Driving through Fairhope is like looking at a picture book. It is one of the most beautiful towns on the planet. There are flowers flowing into the streets from the most perfectly manicured flower beds you have ever seen. I don't know what they're feeding those plants down there but I wanna know their secret!
Saturday, we went to a high school friends home where he barbecued a TON of meat and rented a huge blow up water slide for all of the kids. They all had a blast and we had a great time catching up again. I have had a really great time with all of my friends from high school and I am so glad I live close enough that I can go back and spend some time with my past. After that, we got cleaned up and left Landry with my Aunt Elaine, Uncle Robert and cousin Julie and we went to a draw down in Mobile. We were down to the last 4 tickets(out of 300) and our number was called!! We were soooo close to our $2500 share of a $10,000 prize! It was like playing Deal or No Deal and I was ready to deal! To top all of it off, Alabama got a highly recruited quarterback commitment last night and he and his parents(I cheered with his mother in high school) showed up to the drawdown. He was such a kid!! I can't believe he looked so young. Am I THAT old already?! It was a lot of fun night hanging out with my friends and I even got to dance with my hubby. Good times, folks...good times.
To top off the weekend, I went by for an early Mother's Day visit with my mother at the cemetery, ate lunch with my brother and his family and headed home to Jackson. After I got home, I unloaded the car and then headed to a Junior League Steering committee dinner. WHEW! Do I have to tell you how beat I am! Landry was so tired. I think she was glad to get back to her own bed and her own house. She was really happy to see Bella too! All in all, it was a great weekend and I was shown just how blessed I am again.
