Maternity Session
I had the joy and pleasure of my last maternity session with my good friend Jeanelle Caraway. I haven't seen all of them yet but I know she did a great job and despite the cold temps we had a great time. I have had some feelings of bitter sweetness in this pregnancy. I know this will be the last one and I am thrilled at the idea of not ever being this big, uncomfortable or destined to meet the labor and delivery process BUT these feelings are met with a little sadness. I love the idea of bringing a child..our child...in to this world. It is an honor to be a vessel for God to 
bring one of His creations in to this world. I never really looked at this way until I became pregnant with Sophie but it is an honor. I am adopted and my sisters beautiful children are adopted and that is a gift that can't be described. Knowing that someone carried me and in my case, had to give me up is something I truly cannot fathom. It takes a special kind of love to give your children up. I was blessed in so many ways for this unselfishness that if I ever had the chance to look my birth mother in the face I know I would find my self speechless. I think it makes giving birth have a whole new meaning for me and for those I know that receive precious children through adoption.
Each and every child is a Gift from God. I know mine certainly are.
