Grandma
Today would have been my Mother's 71st birthday. She passed away 6.5 years ago and this year it is hitting me harder than the last few. I think it's because I look at Landry and think about how much she is missing in not knowing her Grandmother. I think about the day that I will have to tell her that my Mommy isn't here anymore and possibly have to explain death to her in the same conversation. At some point in her life, I will also have to explain why she isn't here and how her life ended here on earth and that won't be a good day for me either.
I've been thinking about the things that I used to do for my Mother for her birthday and how I would always try to do something special for her. She didn't expect much so whatever I did was a big deal to her. She always appreciated the little things and I have come to see how truly special the every day little things matter in someones life. I hope I can somehow instill the gratitude that she had in Landry.
I hope you know how much I miss you and how often I think of you. Please give Sophie a kiss for me and know that I love you both so very much.

Renee,
My heart goes out to you.It is odd how somedays can affect us more than others.I know I will be having one of those days next week on the anniversary of my moms death.I always wish for "just one more day." Oh the things we could say or do. I always think of this little saying that really helps me. "A Mother holds her children's hands for awhile, their hearts forever." I hope your day gets better.
Love,
ABM
It really hits home that you are missing a parent when you become one. Not a day goes by that I don't hate my father not being here in body with us. But, I know just as well as you do, that these children will know their grandparents, who they were and what they stood for...just in a different way!
